Olaniyi Tayo is a management and technology consultant with Accenture. He is currently the Director of the Technology Group. He has over 20 years of consulting experience across several sectors of the Nigerian economy including oil and gas, banking, manufacturing, telecommunications and government. He has done a number of transformational projects for both private and public enterprises. Prior to joining Accenture, he worked as an Operations Engineer with an oil and gas services company.Niyi is an advisor to the Technology Innovation Program of the Ministry of Communication Technology (Techlaunchpad), a public/private sector partnership set up to accelerate the development of the local software industry in Nigeria. He also participated as a sub-committee member of the inter-ministerial committee on the recently held 24th World Economic Forum on Africa (WEFA Nigeria 2014).Niyi was until recently a mentor on the Youth Business Initiative Nigeria (YBI Nigeria) program, an NGO under the auspices of the Princes Trust. YBI Nigeria provides young people with good business ideas; seed capital, basic and on-going business training and business mentoring. And, he is on the board of the Ray of Hope Foundation (ROHF), an NGO set up to help take children off the streets and into schools. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (First Class) in Mechanical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University and a Master of Business Administration with Distinction from University of Hull.
